Making My Home into Art
I sometimes forget that I don’t need to be a painter to paint or a musician to pick up an instrument or a carpenter to build myself a shelf. And yet you will find me in the deep web of DIY youtube videos, Pinterest boards and Tiny Desk performances admiring those that create art with their hands. Art is fun and challenging, and gives you time to create something of your own no matter your experience. It brings people together too recently, my family and I have been doing paint nights with wine (of course), and it’s something we have never done before! My favourite part after painting together was watching my mom’s joy and focus while she painted. She had this expression that I will hold with me forever, one that could light up a room. Our goal is to have our own gallery by the end of the summer in our home, and I’m living for it. Enhancing our space with art that we created made our home feel ALIVE!
Art w/ Friends
Yesterday I caught up with friends, and we painted this beautiful canvas together. Everyone had a little bit of them in the piece stroked across the art. What amazed me by it was how we did not judge what we created together, how we allowed ourselves to just paint. The colours may not match exactly, but they oddly enough they compliment each other so well. This artwork deserves all the Chef kisses in the world.
Today’s post self-care tip was simple turn your home into a canvas and do it with the people you cherish!
