SHAKESPEARE’S SECRETS

June 22, 2020Are you actually awake ,or are you trapped in the personal fiction in your mind?
Without knowing it, we naturally colour the world through our lens. Creating opinions, thoughts, and ideas of a single moment or person without realizing we’re not actually seeing them. I ask myself this more often now than before I am truly awake, or am I still circling around in mind with my thoughts and plans for the future (either the next 5 mins from now, day or week) am I ever really present. Today’s COVID self-care special is simpler and more straightforward. I ask you today, breathe and let be, to not rush into things mindlessly and be present.
“The best way to capture moments is to pay attention.
This is how we cultivate mindfulness.
Mindfulness means being awake.
It means knowing what you are doing.”
-Jon Kabat-Zinn
Andy Puddicombe was Buddhist, now an author and the co-founder of the meditation app headspace a great app that has all sorts of guided meditation sessions for anxiety, stress, sleep, and many more. Anyhow, in this video he demonstrates how it only takes 10 minutes of your day to achieve mindfulness and be present. It’s an interesting tedtalk and I think you’d enjoy it!
