August 14, 2020INSIDE MY ROOM #6
Continuing our segment of story time called INSIDE MY ROOM where we will be sharing poetry instead of monologues or fictional short stories. Today’s story time features a poem called Move by Lauren Brady.
Move
Elongate over mountains
prove you are tall,
scattered across the
sea, land and sky
embrace it all.
Turn around pits
tease the ground,
embrace the enemy
know the field
every crevasse
Jump over barriers
experience the rush,
compress a nerve
fly to the sun
check if they see.
Connect your arm to your hip
see if you can,
shelter your body
make a change
challenge yourself
be something new.
Fall through the air
Through time and space
Create your own state
Never land in one place.
