February 15, 2021INSIDE MY ROOM #8
Continuing our segment of story time called INSIDE MY ROOM where we will be sharing poetry instead of monologues or fictional short stories. Today’s story time features a poem called WORD search by Lauren Brady.
After creating this work, I have many thoughts.
The world we live in is unpredictable, yet as human beings, we strive for logic, control, and reassurance. The tool to understand what you want and know how to get it is a great one. But even after cultivating, training, and preparing for the world, you thought you understood – it changes on a dime.
We can not control what happens tomorrow, but we can control what we do in the present. It may not be what you wanted or even hoped for, but it’s what we have.
We set our own standards-This is convenient because that means we can break them as well.
The positive mentality demonstrated in writing above may not be showcased in the work below. That is okay. Art allows you to venture and express everything, even the unwanted thoughts cultivating your mind. Your work doesn’t always have to be a 100% translation of your current self. It can vary because human beings aren’t consistent, no matter how much we try to be.
I hope you enjoy…
