DISCLAIMER: This is a fictional free verse poem on online dating. In the poem, the speaker uninstalls ‘I’m Bored app,” which is a fake app we created for our short film “I’m Board” for singles looking to mingle in quarantine. This is not judgment towards anyone who uses online dating apps ( speaking from someone who has been on it). This is more so about the two-dimensional connection that comes with dating online and a commentary on how online dating can feel surreal. We forget the person on the other end is a human being with feelings. Sometimes these apps are fun, and sometimes they’re not. Also, I wanted to just write a small tale.
