August 7, 2020INSIDE MY ROOM #5
Continuing our segment of story time called INSIDE MY ROOM where we will be sharing poetry instead of monologues or fictional short stories. Today’s story time features a poem called Child of the Sun by Tadiwa Nemutambwe.
I am a fourth-year psychology major at MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta. I am also a new member of the Peer Health Education team at MacEwan University. I am currently looking at continuing my education in Counselling Psychology after obtaining my bachelor’s degree and hopefully (eventually) contributing to a Black therapist network such as the one we currently have in Edmonton. I love writing poetry, I love watching anything psychological, I love the mountains, and my dream is to live by the ocean. My poetry is a reflection of my struggles and triumphs with mental health, my existence as a Black woman and my journey into my roots and influences.
